Controversies• In March 2015, while he was driving towards Worli in Mumbai, he saw a businessman driving his Lamborghini car at a high speed on the Bandra Worli Sea Link. After that, Arnab called the Mumbai Police to take some action, and Police arrested the businessman later.

• In May 2017, The Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd (BCCL), which owns TimesNow TV channel, lodged a police complaint against Republic TV's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, claiming infringement of Intellectual Property Rights and other charges.

• Some criticised the way of his talking in the TV panel discussion. A CPI (Communist Party of India) activist, Kavita Krishnan, denounced his channel for branding rape-accused as a rapist, terror-accused as a terrorist.

• In April 2020, multiple FIRs were lodged against him for his alleged derogatory remark on the Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi. He also allegedly allegations of communal nature against her.

• On the morning of 4 November 2020, he was arrested in a joint operation by the Raigad police and the Mumbai Police from his home in Mumbai in connection with abetment to suicide case of an architect, Anvay Naik, who designed Arnab's studio. After Mr. Naik and his mother were found dead at their home in Alibaug, Maharashtra in 2018, Mr. Naik's wife claims that in a suicide note he had mentioned that Mr. Goswami was responsible for his death. Later, Mr. Naik's wife shared a suicide note left by her husband in which Arnab Goswami, along with two others, was held responsible for the death of Mr. Naik.On 11 November 2020, he was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court of India. While granting him the bail, a two-judge bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and Indira Banerjee pulled up the Maharashtra government over Arnab's arrest.
